Cotton Care Guide
How to care for your pure cotton bedsheets so they remain vibrant and become softer over time.
1. Gentle Machine Wash
Wash on gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water (below 30°C). Use mild, bleach-free detergent to protect the natural fibres and colours.
2. Dry in Shade
Line dry in shaded, airy outdoor areas. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sunlight, which can dull natural printing dyes over time.
3. Medium Warm Iron
Iron at medium heat while the sheet is slightly damp for a crisp, hotel-like finish. Ironing on the reverse side protects the print sheen.
Golden Rules for First Wash
Natural cotton absorbs water and dyes differently in the initial cycles. Follow these simple steps:
- Wash separately: Wash your new bedsheet separately for the first 2 washes to avoid colour transfer to other garments.
- Add a pinch of salt: Adding 1 teaspoon of common salt to the first cold rinse helps set traditional dyes.
- No bleach or optical brighteners: Harsh chemicals damage 100% natural cotton fibres.
- Do not wring forcefully: Squeeze gently or use a medium spin cycle to prevent deep creasing.
